  1. I've really enjoyed your series of photographs from Wintergreen Cemetery. The photos are great and I really enjoy your explanations of the symbolisms found on the gravestones. You've give me some incentive to go out and look at some cemeteries in this area, some of which date back to the 1600's. I now have a greater appreciation for the symbolism found on the gravestones up here. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks, Ed. My source of information on the iconography is a book called Stories In Stone, by Douglas Keister, which details hundreds of carvings and symbols that were used on tombstones. It is a fascinating subject.
