“Place conspires with the artist. We are surrounded by our own story, we live and move in it. It is through place that we put out roots.” - Eudora Welty
I LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteI love this house! When I was younger my dad used to do a lot of work for the family who own it and just a few years ago someone broke in this house and the family had him to board it up. It was a very neat house on the inside.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that information. I wondered about the history of this place--it appears to have been quite a prosperous home and farm at one time. Makes you wonder how such places fall into disrepair and neglect.
ReplyDeleteApart from the boarded up windows this looks exactly the same as it did when I was a kid oh-so-many years ago! It really is nice to see that while many things in the area have changed (I moved away 20 years ago; just moved back last week), some things have remained the same. This and the wash house are two of my favorite things to see around here.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Jennifer!
