“Place conspires with the artist. We are surrounded by our own story, we live and move in it. It is through place that we put out roots.” - Eudora Welty
That is a gorgeous photo, Edd. Did you do much on post processing?
ReplyDeleteYes, quite a bit actually. The basic concept is similar to what some people achieve by moving the camera during the exposure. I made two copies of the same photo, one a "straight" interpretation and one with the color luminances selectively increased along with a good bit of Gaussian blur. The two photos were layered together in Photoshop, and the blurred layer was moved slightly out of registration with the straight layer. I then adjusted the opacity of the layer to get the effect I wanted. I experimented with this process on a number of different photos, but only got a couple that I thought were worthwhile.
