“Place conspires with the artist. We are surrounded by our own story, we live and move in it. It is through place that we put out roots.” - Eudora Welty
Ahhh...another familiar sight. That area of the lawn was hand built, manicured and beautiful at one time. Years of neglect have taken it's toll although I love the unkept look of it. (Or maybe I just say that so I feel better about not weeding). Whatever the case, coming up the driveway, I find that area to be my "welcome home".
ReplyDeleteI don't think it look "unkept" at all-- in fact,I thought it had a formal, almost oriental quality. I wouldn't want it any more "kept"
