Mystic Seaport - Mystic Connecticut
This picture is from old negatives dated September, 1989.

Mystic Seaport - Mystic Connecticut
Makes me think of the HMS Bounty replica that just sank off the North Carolina coast.
ReplyDeleteI believe this is the whale-ship Charles W. Morgan. I didn't write it up because after nearly 25 years, I am not certain if this is the Morgan or not. If it is, it is the last remaining whale-ship afloat, and the oldest commercial ship (1841) still in existence.
DeleteGreat pictures, Edd. This one is not the Morgan, but the Joseph Conrad. Your picture posted yesterday was the Morgan. I'm a member of Mystic Seaport and spend a good deal of time there. The Morgan is currently undergoing restoration. You can check out my blog for more pictures from the Seaport.
DeleteThanks for the clarification, Ed. It has been a long time since I was last in Mystic. I believe that John Gardner may still have been active at the Seaport when I was there is 1989. Sure would have liked to meet him.
DeleteWent out there in the 70's very nice time, the ship was great to tour.
