  1. Thank you for posting the picture of Brown's Cove Methodist Church. It brings back a lot of memories beginning the summer I turned six. My father, John Sidney Colvin, was assigned to Brown's Cove as pastor beginning in June of 1954. He and my Uncle Gene, along with local people, renovated the original church building so services could be held in a nice atmosphere. A few years later the Sunday School rooms were added. It is on those grounds that my Sunday mornings and most Wednesday evenings were spent during nearly all of my growing up years. The people there were family to me.
