Baseball game at Vale, Oregon, 1941 - Russell Lee
Play Ball !
"You always get a special kick on opening day, no matter how many you go through. You look forward to it like a birthday party when you're a kid. You think something wonderful is going to happen." - Joe DiMaggio

Watched some of the Yankees-Tigers game yesterday, it's too cold to be playing ball IMO. The extreme salaries demand it I guess.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Edd, feel free to edit any or all of this little rant!
Robert, blogger doesn't allow me to edit your post so you will just have to rant on . . .
ReplyDeleteI agree it is too cold for baseball, but it is too cold in November too, which is where the post-season has been ending up these past few years, so maybe it is better to get an early start. They say that this year the playoffs should end in October. Of course the thing they really need to do is shorten up the playoffs by eliminating all of those off days that are in the schedule to accommodate the TV schedule.
I had this post ready to go two weeks ago, but somehow picked up the misinformation that opening day was April 1. I didn't learn otherwise until yesterday when I heard someone talking about that Yankees/Tigers game. By then it was too late to change so I am one day late with my opening day post.
(How's all that for a rant)
