"Baseball is a habit. The slowly rising crescendo of each game, the rhythm of the long season--these are the essentials and they are remarkably unchanged over nearly a century and a half. Of how many American institutions can that be said?"from Bunts, by George Will (1999)
I bet some great pick up games were played there and stories I would love to hear, nice find.
ReplyDeleteThanks Don. This was in a field across from a church so it may have been used for church league ball. No sign of the diamond, so I think it has been a long time since the last ball game was played here.
